Most of us flew in an Emirates A380 from Sydney to Auckland (very nice, despite being in cattle class). Ariane and Nicholas had just spent a week in Fiji, so were already in Auckland. Peter and Kerrie also spent a couple of nights in Auckland before we all met up at Auckland airport where we picked up two Toyota Previas for the drive south to Taupo.
